Chinese Bamboo Tree

There is bamboo that doesn’t grow like other plants. Most plants, when you plant them, begin to grow toward the surface right away. The Chinese Bamboo Tree is different; the first thing that grows on this plant are the roots. When you plant this bamboo, it will take years to see the results of your labor, but when it comes forth from the ground, it grows quickly. The Chinese Bamboo Tree can grow up to thirty feet in one year before it stops, and as unique as that sounds, it has been preparing for this growth from the day it was planted. There is a lesson for us in the Chinese Bamboo Tree. We need to spend time in preparation, time in prayer, study, and worship if we want to grow into a noticeable force for the glory of God. Growth takes deep roots. Growth takes time and careful preparation. When we don’t take the time to prepare, our roots may not hold in the storms of life, but faith with deep roots can hold on in the strongest of storms. Don’t give up!
